ABOUT THE CHAPTER
In 1961, three Chicago lawyers (Paul Barnhard, Henry L. Brinks, and Gerrit P. Groen) had a vision to establish a national association for Christian lawyers and began to invite other Christian attorneys in the Chicago-land area to meet together for fellowship and vocational edification. What was started by that small group of Chicago attorneys lives on locally as the Chicago Chapter of the Christian Legal Society. The chapter continues to be a fellowship of Christian lawyers, law students, and other friends of CLS seeking to serve each other and the Chicago metropolitan legal community in the name of Jesus.
MEETINGS
The Chicago Chapter presently meets in three locations: Downtown, and with two satellites in Wheaton, and Hoffman Estates. Meetings are currently affected by COVID but normally occur monthly.
- The Chicago meetings are currently being held at 33 N. LaSalle St., Basement Vault, Chicago, IL, normally on first Wednesday of each month.
- The Wheaton satellite normally meets on the third Friday of each month at the Egg'lectic Cafe, 145 North Hale St.
- The Hoffman Estates satellite normally meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the law firm of Plymert, MacDonald, Hargrove & Lee at 2300 Barrington Rd, Ste 220.
You need not be a member to attend these free fellowship meetings which are regularly attended by lawyers, law students, judges, paralegals, and other friends of CLS.
