Previously: January was MCLE month with Wendy Patrick presenting 1 hr Ethics; February was the CLS SW Regional Retreat featuring "The Lawyers Calling: Work & Rest i God's Kingdom"; February CWSL Paul Jonna presentation; March CWSL Wendy Patrick presentation.Kent Porter on Fix Frustration.During May, Robert Bornholf shared about the incredible prison ministry God has called him and lawyers to. July summer social hosted by Victor Orsatti; September renown retired Deputy DA in charge of SD Elder Abuse Unit Paul Greenwood updated us on Elder Law issues. October was National CLS conference in Chicago.; November was SCOTUS Religious Liberties update with Dean Broyles.

The CLS Mission is to be the national grassroots network of lawyers and law students, associated with others, committed to proclaiming, loving and serving Jesus Christ, through all we do and say in the practice of law, and advocating biblical conflict reconciliation, public justice, religious freedom and the sanctity of human life. In furtherance of this CLS Mission, the goals of this Chapter are the mutual support and encouragement, fellowship and spiritual growth of lawyers, judges, law professors and law students who identify themselves as followers of Jesus Christ, in order to more faithfully live out that commitment in their personal and professional lives. 2021 Events:  During 2021, we relaunched all county gatherings while continuing with sub-region gatherings. Many thanks to Attorney Dean Broyles for his 10-21-21 MCLE presentation hosted by USD Law School CLS Student Chapter on SCOTUS Religious Liberties update. Also, the Christmas Social hosted by immediate past President Miles Lawrence enjoyed the fellowship attendance of 25 including delicious food and worship lead by Team Satterfield. 

 

Please consider a donation to the CLS-SD attorney treasury to raise funds to help encourage CLS-SD attorneys and sponsor as many CLS-SD law students to attend the National Conferences and Regional Retreats in 2022.
